The Andair range of gascolators have been designed to fulfil the requirements of a demanding role. Precision machined from solid aluminium and chromic anodised for corrosion protection, the centrally positioned filter canister is incorporated with a 70 micron PTFE coated filter screen. This allows for not only fine fuel filtering but also helps prevent water from passing through the mesh.
These gascolators also allow for easy and safe maintenance. A locking ring must be unscrewed to remove the bowl. Then the filter can be unscrewed and cleaned. To seal the bowl a Viton “O” ring is used, allowing the gascolator to be used in high pressure fuel systems.
On refitting the bowl, an arrow on the bowl points at the locating pin. This is slotted into the body and then the locking ring is tightened, this has provision for safety wire locking.
Great flow characteristics are also something at which the Andair gascolators excel. Large ports allow for easy fuel flow and a very low pressure drop. On measuring the drop between the inlet and outlet at 30 gph, it was found to be just 0.3 psi!
