The CV1J4 “Clear View” inline filter was designed to aid monitoring of carbon monoxide contamination produced by dry air pumps during normal operation in “pressure” gyro systems. Any sudden increase in filter contamination will warn the pilot, owner or mechanic .
Approved by the FAA on a “change only as needed” basis and as a direct replacement for the old 1J4-6 and 1J4-7 metal can filters. Installation of this filter will reduce yearly operation and maintenance costs for both single and twin engine aircraft.
The CV1J4 housing is constructed of Ultem 1000 a high temperature impact polyethermide, to date there has never been a failure of this material due to defects.
When installed properly this filter will last the life of the pump.
