Dzus is one of the best known names in the world in the quick release fastener field and have been active in the development and manufacture of fasteners for more than sixty years. A complete fastener comprises of a stud, spring and grommet as per the following tables. Each should be the same size, e.g. A3 stud matches GA3 grommet and S3 spring. Other styles and sizes besides those listed here are available, please enquire.
Retaining Grommets
The GA & GF aluminium grommets require burring over both sides of the panel to retain the Dzus stud.
The GH aluminium and the GP polyethylene grommets push onto the Dzus stud from behind to retain the fastener in the panel. You can also install the GP grommet under the head of the Dzus stud to protect the surface of your panel. GH and GP grommets will work equally well on any thickness of panel.
Dzus Springs
To order a Dzus spring choose a part number from the table. If necessary the spring can be packed out from the panel with washers to take up any slack in the fastener.
The springs can be installed with either solid or pop rivets, through the centre of each end.
For sizes S3 and S4 use 3/32” rivets such as pop rivet TAR/D/303BS, sizes S5 to S6 use 1/4” rivets such as TAR/D/504BS.
Tools
For GA grommets (A and AJ type studs). The dash number of the tool part number matches the size number of the Dzus fastener.
