These indicators are designed to give a flashing indication in the event of an alternator/generator failure resulting in the battery supplying power to the bus bar. The thresholds for illumination are:-
14 volt version - Flashes between 13-12.5 volts.
28 volt version - Flashes between 25.5-25 volts.
As the battery voltage decreases further the flashing will stop and the lamp will remain permanently illuminated. When connecting these detectors to the bus system we recommend that a 1 amp. fuse or circuit breaker is used. Indicators do have a press to test facility.
